Lesson 13: Tips, Tricks & Tactics

Now there’s nothing to stop you from going out and finding your social media job right away. But hold on a moment. Before you dive in, here are some quick tips, tricks, and tactics to help you get the best results.

1. Sign Up on All Three Platforms

Upwork, Freelancer, and Guru are all fantastic places to find work. And to get the best results, you need to join all of them.

We find our best-performing members are those who sign up with all three platforms. You can join for free, and it only takes a few minutes to sign up. When you are correctly set up, you will see many more cool opportunities coming your way.

2. Fill Out Your Profiles Completely

Another mistake people often make is to take shortcuts when filling out their profiles. Remember that prospective employers want to know all about you. So the short amount of time it takes to complete your profile in full is well worth it.

This doesn’t take long. Once you’ve done the first, you can re-use most of the same information on the others. Then you're done and on your way to success.

3. Check for New Jobs Regularly

We’ve worked hard to make the Social Media Jobs Database the best tool for finding hot jobs and cool projects. Our team is constantly scouring the Internet for jobs you may love.

So make the most of it. Be sure to check back and see what new jobs are there. The job of a lifetime may be waiting for you right now. But if you don’t check the jobs database, how will you ever know?

4. Use the Job Filters

The job filters are an excellent tool for refining your job search. Perhaps you're a beginner who is looking for Instagram-related work. No problem. The job filters allow you to get granular and find exactly what you want.

If you are looking for YouTube jobs for those Advanced skills, you can focus your search on those. Whatever your skill level, and platform of choice, you can hone in on what’s relevant to you.

5. Respond to Inquiries Fast

When you start applying for jobs, you need to make the right impression. If an employer contacts you, be sure to reply as quickly as you can.

If you strike while the iron is hot, you have an excellent chance of winning the job. But if you make the employer wait, they move on to someone else. A speedy reply can make all the difference.

6. Raise Your Rates Steadily

You can certainly make great money with social media jobs. But if you are a newbie, it’s best to start with modest expectations.

You should price your hourly rate at a lower level initially. Then as you get more experience and feedback, you can raise your rates, time and time again. Many successful freelancers have scaled up to a high income this way, and you can, too!

7. Upgrade to Get the VIP Jobs

Although there are plenty of great jobs in the Main Jobs Database, why restrict your options? We find our highest earners are those who also have access to The VIP jobs database.

If you’re not part of this community yet, we recommend you join as soon as you can. You’ll love the quality of the jobs inside. So take a moment to sign up here.

That’s it for this course. Now you are all set to find fantastic social media jobs and make great money working from home. It’s a good life in the social media world—enjoy!
